The Siretessile division devoted to Sire-Tex technical fabrics takes care of the environment by including in its product range new sustainable and ecological materials for the manufacturing of technical, urban and sporty footwear and clothing.
Such a commitment towards the environment and recyclable materials has led Siretessile to obtain the GRS – Global Recyled Standard certification, an international award for those companies who create garments and textiles with recycled materials. The company is working constantly to widen its range of certified products.
Among the Green and Recycled products, there are a series of products designed to develop a shoe from A to Z that meet the different market needs.
Sire-Tex brand released two new waterproof and breathable membranes: the Circle membrane and Gea bio membrane.
Circle membrane is a product made with polyester recovered from industrial processing. The membrane goes with the cloth Berry, a classic tissue of the company, made with recycled polyester.
GEA Bio membrane, instead, is an innovative membrane made with the non-edible waste of the castor tree, which is extremely resistant and lighter than synthetic materials. It is perfect for the manufacturing of trekking shoes coupled with the new lining Land made of recycled polyester and organic additives that let the material to be regenerated.
One of the company’s bestsellers for many years now are wool and fur, both natural and synthetic, designed to make the winter shoes linings or other inserts. Also, in this important sector Sire-Tex left its green footprint by using natural recovered fibers and recycled polyester fibers. The application to obtain the GRS certification in this sector, too, has been already carried out.
Among the new products also stands out Green Felt, a felt made of polylactic plastic derived from plant sugars, thermoformable, perfect for making insoles or footwear linings. This material has a low environmental impact and it’s made with a renewable raw material, it is resistant and elastic, boasting high absorption capacity.
Another outstanding product is the rubber Nature Bio, made in part with polyurethane foam and in part of a soy-derived material, a good compromise to make shoe padding while respecting the environment. This material can be made adhesive with paper or polyester film to facilitate the creation of a shoe.
