Research and creativity, the foundations of excellence, push the boundaries of artificial intelligence.
Founded over sixty years ago, Tacchificio Villa Cortese has established itself as one of the leading manufacturers of heels, earning a reputation for excellence and innovation. The passion and enthusiasm surrounding the company are evident from the first meeting with Giuseppe Motta, Head of the Pattern Making Department of the Scandicci headquarter. “Without a doubt, there is considerable enthusiasm because the direction is the right one, – stated Motta – but we should not consider it as a final objective. It is crucial to maintain determination and long-term perspective to progress further.” One of the main goals of Tacchificio Villa Cortese is to become increasingly sustainable. In fact, the company is committed to the research and development of polymers derived from biological sources and biocomposite materials. The trend towards sustainability is spreading in the fashion industry and the company is playing a key role in this change. “From what I have noticed, customers are starting to get the message. We were forerunners, but now we are seeing a lot more attention and consequently the market is also responding positively,” Motta notes. The use of bio- based materials is one of the areas where Tacchificio Villa Cortese is making great progress. During the September edition of Lineapelle, Tacchificio Villa Cortese presented the latest trends and innovations in heels. “We brought autumn heels with different finishes, whether matt, shiny or laser-etched, and we experimented with bold colors and unique details. Heels with sculptural shapes continue to be on trend, even if there is a return to the formal style. There is also a great attention to wedges, which will be back in fashion,” he continues. So how does artificial intelligence relate to this? “The biggest challenge is to take advantage of artificial intelligence to push the boundaries of what is possible. We are exploring the potential of IA to create aesthetically appealing and innovative products, both in terms of design and materials,” Motta concludes.
