W-Trendy Team develops new technologies for Digital Transformation between consulting and training
Historically, the greatest innovations are the result of difficult periods, which has taught us that one can always find a way forward from any situation.
In this way, in 2022 we witnessed a considerable increase in production in the footwear sector, but it also represented a year characterized by considerable investments by companies in the purchase of new machinery, and in the start-up of a digital innovation process linked to the management, control and automation of production processes, also thanks to the fiscal incentives linked to the “Digital Transformation” and the “Industry 4.0” paradigm.
This is the historical context in which wTrendy TEAM S.r.l. operates. The Tuscany-based company works in the most important footwear districts, such as those in the Marche, Veneto and Lombardy, and has made available to its clients all the innovative features of the wPlus software platform for the process digitization, ranging from prototyping to logistics.
CONSULTANCY AND TRAINING
The specialization of the wTrendy consultants, almost all of whom come from personal experience in the shoe industry, together with customer expertise, has made it possible to make the wTrendy platform fit every situation.
The configurations of the system and the knowledge of the functionalities are the basis for the transfer of skills to the key users during installation and training. The aim is to make operators autonomous and independent while also reducing costs after Go Live.

As of this year, wTrendy is fielding another important initiative aimed at training future key users, both those already employed by companies and those seeking employment.
By taking part in the training, it is possible to gain in-depth knowledge about the fundamental dynamics and processes that characterize ‘fashion companies’ in the digital age, through a better understanding of industry standards.

WPLUS’ REVOLUTIONARY DEPARTMENTS FOR THE INDUSTRY:
wMES (Manufactoring Execution System) for the actual management of production, built on the possibility of tracking production progress and times, through the use of mobile devices installed in the departments or on the handlers and leveraging the interconnection of all 4.0 Ready machines. Two quality control technologies have been developed in this area: the first allows the configuration of control ‘Check Lists’ for each Gate phase and the detection of ‘non-conformities’ for each size; the second, based on rFID technology and X-ray machinery (projects developed with the company Brustia Alfameccanica), allows the detection of metal objects and irregularities that should not normally be present in the footwear produced.
wPLM (Product Lifecycle Management) is addressed to the management of the product lifecycle, which allows in a simple and intuitive way to manage all the processes of prototyping, sampling, serial testing and compliance, through a concept that is revolutionary to date given by the use of free and modifiable coding. This is possible thanks to the management of the processing notes traced for the production of the sample, with the immediate obtaining of the industrial cost of each product and the calculation of the mark-up.
