The company, headquartered in Sant’Angelo di Piove di Sacco (Padua) and leader in the production of high-quality molds tested with cutting-edge injection machines, displayed its latest innovations at the latest edition of A+A Düsseldorf.
Two international trade fairs where to confirm the leadership in the production of high-quality moulds tested with ground-breaking injection machines. The protagonist is Zago Moulds Solution, which after attending Simac Taning Tech last September, has successfully attended one of the most important trade fairs related to safety, eagerly awaited by operators from all over the world: the A+A fair Düsseldorf.
We asked the marketing manager Marina Zago what the Venetian company’s flagship products are.
“After more than 65 years of nonstop activity – her words – there are currently three: 1. The moulds for footwear in combination of Rubber-PU materials boasting double performance, i.e. resistance to abrasion and lightness. These are the moulds for the footwear worn by the police and the armed forces but also for the trekking footwear. 2. The molds for footwear in combination of TPU-PU materials, intended for manufacturers of footwear with multicolored soles: the characteristics are flexibility, good abrasion resistance and lightness. 3. Finally, the injection molds for PU and PU-PU boots, intended for manufacturers of footwear used in medium-high risk work environments: healthcare and food.”
What’s new at this year’s fair?
“There are mainly two innovations: Gomma PU2, that is a three-density shoe mould with rubber tread and two-tone PU midsole injected with double ring technology. And Gomma-PU/PU BOOT, namely the mould for PU boots, a blast of technology from the cooling and ejection systems up to the options for integrated injection of PU-PU, Rubber-PU and PU-PU/TPU.”
What do customers appreciate most about you and your products?
“From the feedback received over the years we can confidently state that it is mastery, the ability to guide, the intuition enhanced by experience and the attention to detail.”
What was the biggest challenge the company had to face?
“Moving from being the exclusive partner of a limited number of important companies in the international market in the production of single-type footwear, to creating and developing an extensive network of customers throughout the world, with a rotation of at least 30 primary clients in the sector with different technologies and types of footwear.”
And what’s the greatest satisfaction in Zago history?
“Being a Company 4.0., thanks to the use of intelligent and interconnected production systems and collaborative robotics that bring important benefits: performance improvement, automated monitoring, waste reduction and utmost speed in delivery times. But also maintaining a dominant position in the sector of the production of shoe moulds with direct injection on the upper, expanding the customer portfolio with brands from all over the world.”
Can you tell us some particularly funny moments that have marked the company’s journey from its foundation to today?
“The sometimes-extravagant requests of our customers from abroad, the surprising personalities of our collaborators and the bizarre ideas of the partners.”
And what about the most difficult ones?
“There are four: the global crisis at the end of the first decade, from 2008 to 2010; the ruthless competition for highly specialized employees; the international health emergency between 2020 and 2021 and the current period of international conflicts.”
What makes you unique?
“Zago in one word: excellence. In what we do we are guided by this value shared by all our collaborators. Our customers often pronounce this word and we are satisfied with it.”
How do you see the future of Zago?
“We live the future day by day, with commitment, determination and curiosity.”
What projects or initiatives are planned for the future?
“We will continue to innovate to keep the highest quality and high performance of our products. We will insist on training to keep up with the times. The most ambitious, however, is to remain balanced and satisfied between professional and personal projects.”
