Gemata launches GREENFINISH SHORT and GREENFINISH LAB

Gemata GREENFINISH SHORT
In October Gemata launches into the marketiplace two new different types of GREENFINISH line: they are GREENFINISH SHORT and GREENFINISH LAB. The installation of the plant will be permanent at the company headquarter in Trissino, while in the Santa Croce sull’Arno site, following the launch event, it twill be available 15 days for test and trials before being delivered to the customer.

More of two years ago Gemata started the installation of innovative ECOFINISH lines, release paper finishing systems with infrared drying ovens for corrected grain and full grain leathers.
During the last edition of Simac Tanning tech exhibition in February, the leader company in finishing officialy launched GREENFINISH.

The new line represents an ecological breakthough in finishing systems with release paper: indeed, for the first time a roller coated machine is used to apply the adhesive on the leather instead of spray technology; in addition, drying takes place with an infrared oven both on the release paper and on the leather. The absence of the boiler for the diathermic oil, the use of IR ovens, the temperature control directly on the surface of the release paper and of the leather allows to finish leather of any type, even with metal-free tanning (which require the drying at low temperatures).

Ovens with diathermic oil require boilers with considerable energy consumption, continuous maintenance and long times in order to reduce the oil temperature. Instead, infrared ovens are a much more ecological alternative because they consume only in the presence of passing leathers, they ensure dust-free drying and their management in the tannery is much easier.
To satisfy some specific markets, such as that of Santa Croce sull’Arno where spaces are small and production lots are increasingly smaller, after a few months from the presentation of GREENFINISH, Gemata launches GREENFINISH SHORT line with a footprint of only 20 meters and a significantly reduced cost compared to current systems.

GREENFINISH SHORT is characterized by being a compact and flexible system that ensures a speed of 6-7 m/min, ideal for small production lots. The difference with the systems produced so far concerns the lack of accumulator and the diameter of the release paper of 500 mm (1000 meters in length) which requires a machine stop of 10-15 mm to change the roll every 3 hours of work.

At the end of October GREENFINISH SHORT will be installed in the company headquarter of Santa Croce sull’Arno and it will be available for customers tests and trials. In addition to being an opportuniy to meet, the test service is very important for customers because it ensures them considerable benefits:
– it allows the customer to check the finishing process with release paper
– it allows to finish own leathers.

Gemata GREENFINISH lab

In addition of GREENFINISH SHORT, Gemata designed GREENFINISH LAB, an even shorter system: 11 metres, ideal to labs and chemical products companies that can finish leather with the same production process with the machines already present in the tanneries at a speed of 2m/min.

With the launch of these latest versions of GREENFINISH, Gemata proves to have a great awareness of the different existing tanning realities and offers a vast assortment of systems that can be customized in length, based on the customer’s needs.

GREENFINISH lines currently available are:
– GREENFINISH line of 38 m with two-heads, NO STOP speed 8-10 m/min
– GREENFINISH line of 30 m with one head, NO STOP speed 6-8 m/min
– GREENFINISH SHORT line of 20 m, speed 6-7 m/min
– GREENFINISH LAB line of 11 m, speed 1-2 m/min.
