Bolflex, a Portuguese company specializing in the production of rubber soles, can rightly be counted among those who are committed to finding new and better ways for the production of an essential component for the footwear industry.
This sustainable company has a daily production capacity of 20000 pair of soles: “We do everything in-house and we have our own recycling company, Rubber Link” says Pedro Saraiva, Bolflex’s sales manager. “Our latest product, R-Skin, derives from the transformation of a whole shoe: through a process of micronization and devulcanization we produce a waterproof and flexible fabric, which is excellent for uppers”.
The company deeply believes in recycling: “We recycle both shoes and processing waste, including aluminum molds, we’ve reached a recycling rate of 98% in our processes. Our rubber soles have 70% of recycled material, which is a great result”.
Bolflex exports mainly to Europe and lately has been seeing a growing interest from the Italian market; the company has recently presented a range of 100% vegan and recyclable soles, E-rubber, made out of natural materials such as cork and rice grains.
