S.C. COSTRUZIONI MECCANICHE, confidence in 2022, news is expected

S.C. COSTRUZIONI MECCANICHE, specialized above all in the production of tannery machines and purification plants, is confident in a restart

S.C. COSTRUZIONI MECCANICHE, based in Empoli (Florence), that designs, manufactures and installs auxiliary systems and equipment for several industrial sectors, especially tanning machinery and depuration plants. On the occasion of the Tanning Tech Show, held last September 22 – 24 in Milan, the company put on display the CLEANDISC system, a machine with a waste water microfilter, one of the models of the Water Technology, together with the Belt Filter (self-cleaning belt grate) and the Dried (compactor for screened solids).
“This machine – explains of Roberto Calattini, at the helm of SC COSTRUZIONI MECCANICHE together with the partner Fabio Scardigli – represents us and remains one of our top-of- the range, albeit small in size, also given the tiny stand dimensions. Obviously, this could not be the right edition where launching new models.”
The balance of the Tanning Tech show was positive. “The operators and visitors who came to visit us – he adds – were all interested, as this year there was no room for people who make a ‘pleasure trip’. It is a good thing to participate in the event of the restart, even if, as forecasted, operators from Asia, Africa and South America could not attend. However, we are happy, we were interested in being there and helping to restart ‘the gear’: those who did not come have lost the opportunity to see colleagues and discuss the problems we are all experiencing, no one can say that they have survived this situation unscathed. We all hope that the next edition, scheduled in a year’s time, will be fully operational. We definitely do prefer the new autumn dates, as moving it at the end of February was quite unsuccessful.”
At the end of the year, it is time to take stock: “At the beginning of 2020 our export share – concludes Calattini – was around 40% of total turnover, foreign orders dropped especially in those countries such as Asia, where traveling is problematic because of the obligations linked to the quarantines. For the rest, we have worked quite well in Europe, especially in those countries of the Mediterranean area where we have well-established contacts and that we could reach by car. The prospects for the new year? The work we carried out during the last half of 2021 was finalized precisely to 2022, aiming at being able to return or at least get closer to the levels of 2019. We are working on something new, but at the moment we prefer not to unveil anything about the upcoming news “.
