
MISAF, a professional platform for win-win collaborations between producers, buyers, designers brands, distributors and e-shops
Despite the emergency of coronavirus, confident that the measures at national and international level will allow the running of the fair, the organization of Misaf continues. This was announced on February 6 by Xiamoei Yin, general manager of Plum Solution, organizer of the event, during the press conference at the Grand Hotel Gallia in Milan where the secretary of the Chinese National Chamber of Commerce for import and export of footwear and Wang Ying, and Oliver Chen, entrepreneur and general manager of the Asian shoe label Ranch International, spoke via videoconference. Also the honorary president of Camera Moda and Italy-China Institute, Mario Boselli, who was at the conference, supported the initiative and underlined the importance of the location chosen in the city of Milan with its centrality.
This year Misaf will also host 100 exhibitors from the main production areas which represent 70-80% of the export of the entire Chinese footwear production.
According to Chinese customs statistics, the total value of Chinese footwear imports and exports reached $ 48 billion from January to November 2019. Around 43 billion of the total amount are represented by exports and just over 5 billion by imports.
“In recent years, the market share of Chinese footwear in Italy has remained around 15%,” explained Wang Ying. “In addition to maintaining the European mid-range market, we also want to collaborate with European designers and brands by promoting common development and responding to the mission of Misaf, which translates into the slogan” shoes for everyone “. This is why we want to reach the market with a global citizen product that combines design, quality and price ».
