The Hotmix technologies, designed by S.C. Costruzioni Meccaniche, optimize the mixing (and even the dosage) of numerous chemical substances such as fluids of different viscosity, powders of many granule size to dilute in liquids, and pastes of varying consistency.
The machine is made up of a tank in which all the ingredients are placed before being mixed and heated so as to homogenize them and get the desired mixture. The potential configurations are limitless, from a simple, manually loaded container to a fully atomized, PLC managed system.
Among the main characteristics, the following are worth mentioning: the size range goes from a minimum volume of 500 liters up to the larges tone with a volume of 12,000 litres; the tank can be placed on the ground or on a walkable mezzanine; this second solution facilitates the unloading operations of the obtained mixture, without the aid of lifting pumps. Furthermore, the tank can be placed on load cells for real-time weight control, while to speed up and facilitate mixing, the containment tank can be heated either via electricity or with hot fluids, depending on the customer’s needs. The system with intake vents for the fumes/fumes and with a special external abatement system can be provided, in accordance with current legislation. Inside the tank, the rotating device called “agitator” can have variously shaped blades, or an “anchor” with scrapers on the bottom and on the side wall. The supply of ingredients can be manual or via pipes with electrically or pneumatically controlled servo shut-off valves. Electric and/ or pneumatic pumps, installed upstream, take the substances from the storage silos and push them to the mixing plant. The most advanced configuration with load cells, ingredient supply via pipes with shut-off valves and feed pumps offers the complete automation of the entire process, avoiding risks deriving from the handling of chemical substances. It is also possible to set up the system in environments subject to ATEX regulations.
S.C. Costruzioni Meccaniche also manufactures AISI 304 or AISI 316 stainless steel silos for the storage of chemical products, in the shape and size required by the customer. The company can supply and install the system at the customer’s premises complete with pipes, electrical equipment and the software needed to manage the whole mixing cycle.
